Less than thirty minutes away are two historical state parks, Fort Pownal on Cape Jellison and Fort Knox in Prospect. We are only one hour from Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor. There are numerous other state parks in the surrounding area which include swimming, cook-out facilities, hiking, and piers for the fisherman who want
to try their luck at salt water fishing.

The summer months are filled with outdoor activities. The Celtic Celebration, The Holy Mackerel Fishing Tournament, and the annual boat building contest. Cruises, sailing, deep sea fishing and sight seeing trips along the coast are only minutes away.

Autumn is also an excellent time to visit Maine. It's a quiet, restful time with warm days and cool nights. Our coastline is even more beautiful as Penobscot Bay mirrors the red, orange and gold of fall foliage.
